What happens if the host declines my request?

If a host declines your request or the 24-hour window expires, the payment hold on your card is released immediately. Depending on your bank, the funds will reappear in your account within 1–5 business days. You are never charged for a booking that isn’t confirmed.

Do I need a local Polish guarantor to book a room?

No. This is one of the biggest advantages of using FindMyStay. Traditional renting in Poland often requires a local guarantor, but we replace that obstacle with our fast online Identity Check and simple status verification (like an Erasmus grant letter or work contract).

How do I book a room?

Browse: Find a verified listing you love. Request: Select your dates and click “Request to Book.” Verify: Complete a 2-minute ID check (and upload a grant letter/contract for stays 3+ months). Authorize: Authorize the initial payment. Confirm: The host has 24 hours to accept. Once they do, the room is yours!

Can I visit the room before I pay?

To protect our hosts and prioritize international students booking from abroad, we do not offer in-person viewings. However, you are protected by our 48-Hour Guarantee. If the room is significantly different from the photos, we block the payout to the host and refund your money.

What happens if I arrive and the room is significantly different from the listing?

If you discover a major discrepancy (e.g., the room is missing, uninhabitable, or lacks key advertised amenities), you must contact Support@findmystay.eu or click "Report Issue" in your dashboard within 48 hours of your scheduled move-in. We will investigate, block the host’s payout, and process your refund.

What documents do I need?

All users need a valid Government ID (Passport or National ID) and a live selfie. For long-term stays (3+ months), we accept simple proof of status: an Erasmus+ grant letter, a university acceptance letter, or an employment contract. We do not require complex credit scores.

Can I use my rental contract to get a PESEL or “Meldunek”?

Yes. Since you sign a formal lease agreement directly with the host (facilitated by our platform), you can generally use this document at the local City Office (Urząd Miasta) to complete your mandatory registration (Meldunek) and obtain a PESEL number. We recommend informing your host of this need during the booking process.

How does the rental contract work?

FindMyStay is a secure digital facilitator. We connect you with trusted hosts and provide the technological infrastructure. Once the booking is confirmed, you will sign a formal lease directly with the host or agency. FindMyStay and THEVIPGROUP Sp. z o.o. are not parties to this lease and are not liable for its specific terms.

Who is responsible for maintenance (repairs, Wi-Fi, etc.)?

Because your lease is directly with the host, they (or their property manager) are responsible for daily maintenance. If a pipe leaks or the Wi-Fi drops, you contact your host directly. FindMyStay provides the bridge to your home; the host provides the management.

When do I pay the security deposit and future rent?

FindMyStay securely handles only the first month’s rent to guarantee your arrival. Any security deposits (kaucja) or subsequent monthly rent payments are paid directly to your host according to the terms of your lease agreement.

Can I extend my stay?

If you wish to stay longer, you must negotiate an extension directly with your host. Our role is to facilitate the initial secure entry into the property. Any renewals or early terminations are managed strictly between you and the owner.

Create an account, upload your property photos and details, and complete our secure KYB (Know Your Business) verification. You can start with our Basic Plan (7% commission, pay only when you earn) or upgrade to Pro (399 PLN/mo) to drop your commission to 2% and unlock pro-management tools.
